Swalley Breaks Out of Slump
Sophomore Zach Swalley shot a 1-over 37 to earn medalist honors leading the
Spartans past East Marshall 154-178. This could be the beginning of a promising
year for the talented Korean sophomore. The kid has a lot of game, but right now
had to many other things on his mind.
Grant Stevens, Taylor Schupbach and Bobby Ayers shared runner-up medalist honors
with 39’s.
Junior Michael Henely posted a 40 and sophomore Brett Speirs recorded a 43
completing the varsity line-up.
David Frisch earned junior varsity medalist honors with a 44 and Drew Haefner
was runner-up with a 45.
Head Coach Dennis Dirks had these comments, ”We really scored well up and down
the line-up. Posting four scores in the 30’s on the Grundy Center course is not
an easy task. I was really happy to see Zach put together a solid round to earn
medalist honors."
